Connect
Get Elsewhere from the App Store and sign in with the same email as your Mac. It needs iOS 17 or later.
Your computers are in the list, each with its status. Tap one, then tap Connect.
Trackpad or touch
In trackpad mode, your finger moves the pointer, like the trackpad on a laptop. Tap to click, and double-tap to double-click. Scroll with two fingers. Tap with two fingers to right-click. To drag, press and hold, then slide.
In touch mode, a tap clicks right where your finger lands, and a slide drags.
Switch modes from the ⋯ menu. Choose the one each session starts in under Pointer mode in Settings.
Type
Tap the keyboard button to bring up the keyboard. The row above it has ⌘, ⌥, ⌃, and ⇧, plus esc, tab, and the arrow keys.
Tap a modifier, then a key. ⌘ then C sends ⌘C. A modifier that's on has a blue ring. It lets go after the next key.
Paste from iPhone, in the ⋯ menu, pastes the text you copied on your phone into the Mac. Your Mac's clipboard doesn't come back to the phone.
Dictation doesn't work in a session yet.
Zoom in
In landscape, or on iPad, pinch to zoom in on small text, up to four times. Zoom changes only your view, not the Mac.
When the pointer leaves the zoomed area, the view moves to keep it in sight.
On iPad
iPad uses the full screen for the Mac, with a small toolbar at the bottom that fades after a few seconds. Tap where it was to bring it back.
A trackpad or mouse points directly. Two-finger scrolling and the wheel scroll the Mac. A hardware keyboard types as if it were plugged into the Mac, so shortcuts like ⌘C work.
When you're done
Tap Disconnect in the ⋯ menu. To lock the Mac as you go, first choose Lock and the Mac's name in the same menu.
